The Micro Magic is an ideal boat for both the new and experienced radio sailor. They have been adopted by Patterson Lakes Radio Model Yacht Club (PLRMYC) and a strong fleet sails both on Tuesdays at the National Watersports Centre on Patterson River and on Sundays at the Waterways Estate on the lake on Waterside Drive. The Micro Magic is a low costl boat that can be purchased in a Kit or already built form. It is an International Class and the last State and National Titles were held at PLRMYC with good numbers for both events. The current National Champion is Bill Hutcheson who has done a huge amount of work to promote the class. Due to its small size the boat can be carried fully rigged in a car. With smaller rigs it is possible to sail the boat from light winds to quite strong breezes.

New members are always welcome and the club owns a boat that can be used by visitors if arranged before the day. This class has been responsible for the introduction of a large number of people into radio sailing.

No previous sailing experience is necessary to sail a radio yacht (although it is an advantage) and a number of our top club sailors have nevr sailed full sized yachts. Other websites that are relevant can be found here.
